Richard Craig Named Region 5 School Resource Manager of the Year
Avon Schools Police Department School Resource Officer Richard Craig – @TheOfficerCraig on TikTok – was named Region 5 School Resource Manager of the Year by the National Association of School Resource Managers.
“I try to be the positive adult and role model in the students’ lives that I wish I had at their age,” says Constable Craig. “I wasn’t perfect as a teenager and often found myself in trouble, mostly because I didn’t have positive guidance. I had great examples of what not to do. Young people will make mistakes. We all do. However, we must make it difficult for them to fail. This is my main objective.
Not only does Agent Craig make a genuine and lasting impression on Avon students, staff, and educators, but he’s also making a global impact through his creative and compelling use of TikTok. He joined the social network to connect with students by meeting them where they are and, as a recent report from WRTV illustrates, he now reaches over 127,000 followers through the platform.
“We are proud of the dedication Constable Craig demonstrates daily to our children, staff and parents,” said Chase Lyday, Chief of Avon Schools Police Department.
Congratulations, Officer Craig! Thank you for all you do in person and online.
