HEI students crowd into sailing centers for semester exams
The online semester exams for students studying in Tamil Nadu colleges of engineering, arts and sciences started on a bright note on Tuesday. Most colleges that opened on Tuesday did not hold physical classes for all students as was the case in schools.
The Department of Higher Education had previously announced that the pending semester exams, which should have taken place in January, would take place from February 1 to 20. As a result, all public universities and colleges, in addition to state self-funded institutions, have developed provisions, including uploading question papers and tracking student participation in semester exams starting Tuesday. morning.
The students, who do not have access to adequate Internet connections, have invaded the browsing centers to download the questionnaires.
A senior higher education department official told DT Next that most students, who were given an hour to download the quizzes, completed on time. “The teachers also helped the students when they had problems downloading the quizzes,” he said.
The manager reiterated that, unlike last year, students will not be penalized for late uploading question papers or late sending answer scripts to the institution.
“Therefore, there was no doubt about the number of students who had problems with the Internet,” he pointed out. However, the official said that the exact number of students who encountered problems downloading question papers or unavailability of internet connection will be requested from the institutions shortly.
The senior official also said all colleges were instructed to take exams by February 20 so that physical classes could begin.
