How to Delete Browsing History on Android

For an optimal and secure browsing experience, users are recommended to periodically delete their browsing history. Here’s how to do it on an Android smartphone or tab.
There are various reasons why a person might want to delete their browsing history. This may be necessary in cases where the device is public or borrowed. Deleting browsing history, which includes cookies, can also help protect users against security vulnerabilities such as malicious cookies. Clearing cached images frees up space on a device.
Google Chrome is one of the most popular mobile browsers and it even comes pre-installed on many Android smartphones and tablets. To delete browsing history, open the Chrome browser app, tap the Overflow button (three dots in the upper right corner) and select Settings. Scroll down and tap Privacy and Security, it should open another submenu that has “Clear browsing data” at the top. The Clear Browsing Data submenu has two options – Basic and Advanced. Both allow you to clear browsing history only, but also offer other options such as deleting cookies, cached images or saved passwords. There is also an option to choose a time range that includes browsing history for the last hour, last 24 hours, or even all time. Choose the data to delete and press the Erase data button at the bottom of the screen.

AAnother popular browser is Samsung Internet which comes with Samsung phones and tablets, and the procedure for clearing browsing history is a bit different. The first step is to open the browser, press the Menu button (three horizontal lines), select Settingsfaucet Personal dataand the Delete browsing data. Just like Google Chrome, it is possible to choose the data to be deleted. Select your preference and press the Delete data button at the bottom of the screen.
It’s not uncommon for people to download a different browser, and Mozilla’s Firefox is a popular alternative web browser for Android users. According to Play Store statistics, the app has been downloaded over 100 million times. Those using this browser can delete their browsing history by opening the app, tapping the three dots in the top or bottom corner depending on the user’s personalization, and selecting Settings. To choose Delete browsing data and check the type of data to delete. Delete by pressing the Delete browsing data button.
Firefox includes an option that allows the browser to automatically delete browsing data when it exits the application. To enable this feature, go to browser settings as described above. Scroll down to the menu that says “Clear browsing data on exit” and select it, toggle the toggle to the right by tapping on it and choose which items should be cleared after each exit.
