Launched an easy-to-use business directory website

HUDSON VALLEY – A new website has launched to provide a platform for local brick and mortar businesses to let the public know they are still running.

We’re Always Open Hudson Valley (WSOHV) allows businesses to share the changes they’ve made to stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic and keep their customers informed. Essential businesses can be listed on the website by filling out an online form and WSOHV volunteers will post the list within 24-48 hours. Site visitors can search by keyword, city or county for restaurants, farms, cafes, bakeries, boutiques, retail businesses and find what these businesses offer, links to their social networks and websites and their opening hours.

The website is searchable and free for “essential” and physical businesses in the Hudson Valley that have changed their business model to allow online services, delivery or curbside pickup.

The website was designed by Gilday Creative, Inc.​and developed by JTSDesign, Inc..​Haynes Marketing + Media​ has partnered to help promote this free service to our communities. We’re Still Open Hudson Valley launching March 27and and already has over 450 businesses spanning nine counties in the Hudson Valley and continues to grow.

Jeff Severson, owner of JTS Design, Inc., said, “As a web developer, I tend to view websites and information from a user experience perspective. During the first weeks of March, as the COVID-19 crisis began to worsen in New York, I began to see many restaurants that I follow on Facebook posting that they were still open and changing the way they were. to do business to meet the need for social distancing. . I then began to see various Facebook groups being created to list open companies and the changes they had made. This was followed by a number of Excel and Google documents that started circulating for the same reason. As a user, I felt it was information overload and just confusing to find information. This inspired my idea to create a website that would be an information hub for businesses in the Hudson Valley to indicate they were still open and add new accommodations. during the pandemic while giving consumers the ability to easily search and find these businesses.

Asked about the collaboration, Sheila Gilday, Chief Creative Officer of Gilday Creative, Inc., said, “Now is the time for small businesses to come together and help each other. When Jeff from JTS Design, Inc. mentioned his idea to me, I thought it would be a great resource for the community to have a place to go to find out who’s open and how they’re providing their services during these trying times. . We all live, work and volunteer in the Hudson Valley and if this is a way to use our talents to help others through this time, it was a no-brainer for us.

Kati Haynes, Founder of Haynes Marketing + Media, said, “We felt it was important for us to work together and dedicate our time and energy to doing something for the greater good. None of us can sew masks, work in a hospital, or deliver food to those in need, so we created this website. We devote an immense number of hours to this project, while trying to maintain our own small businesses.
